LUCINDA TO NORTH OF TOWNSVILLE. Sunday 19th May, 2019.

Left Lucinda about nine didn't rush as not going too far today. Went through Halifax, Ingham where the famous Ingham cemetery is a tourist landmark as you will see. We were heading to Townsville but at that stage didn't know if we would stay 40kms north of Townsville or down on the coast of Townsville. We came to the first one which sounded really nice and we could get 15% off. It was a 4km drive off the A1 highway to the coast. In fact the road we took lead us only to the camp no public access to the beach. As the sun had come out driving down the highway we thought let's stop here, very nice camp and perhaps we could sit and enjoy the sun for the afternoon. No such luck as soon as we set up camp the clouds came over. And the wind got stronger to strong wind warning status.

Driving through the small town of Halifax not far from Lucinda. The big white beast was blocking the view.

Next stop Ingham to visit the well know cemetery. Amazing when you drive in there was only one thought 😳 so many mausoleums all with a lot of Italian names.

Nothing like having a small house to spend the rest of your time in.

This was the one I would like,
OK kids!!!!!

Looking through the windows.

Now back onto the A1 highway heading south towards Townsville. We have seen so much sugar cane growing over the last two or three                      days in this area.

We decided to stop at the Big 4 Rollinstone beach front park. Huge, but this time of year they are all very quiet. As you can see the sun went under that big cloud ridge. Beautiful and sunny out to sea but the coast is really coping it with no sun and very high gusty wind. We should be on a boat not a camper to catch the sun !!!

We had a walk around the park with lots of little lakes dotted around the place. This is at the other end of the camp which is the dog area.
Where you stay if you have a dog. Most of the camps are dog friendly.

This Big 4 camps cater for all the family. Known as good family holiday parks as most have playgrounds, pools  and organised games etc for the kids. But this time of year hardly any kids around.

Done the circuit of the park and back to home.

Not a lot going on today only travelled about 100kms so arrivived in camp before lunch. It's good as usually you can arrive from 11.00am onwards which gives you a good full afternoon to see what you have to see. This is why one night is usually enough unless we feel like a break for two nights. As we get into our last week we will be having longer stops.
